Where the dust comes from
Road work, new lots, and caliche shoulders put a pale film on the lower doors. You see it on cars that live in 78233 and Converse. Exterior detailing rinses the grit off before anything touches the paint, then washes what bonded.
The same dust rides into the cabin on shoes. If the carpets are gray with it, add interior detailing or book the full detail.
Do not wipe it
A towel on dry dust cuts the clear. So does a brush tunnel. If the dust has been there long enough to haze the paint, look at paint correction only after the film is gone. Correction through grit makes more scratches.
Oak pollen is a different season and a different dust. That note is oak pollen.

Call (210) 201-4847 and say whether the dust is on the paint, in the cabin, or both. Studio hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Deposit is 20% of the quoted total.
Dust that feels like sandpaper
Construction dust and caliche on the northeast side do not behave like pollen. The grit is sharp. A dry wipe or a single-bucket wash at the apartment lot grinds it across the clear. The studio rinses the loose dust off before a mitt touches the panel, then checks whether the paint still feels rough.
Rough after a rinse usually means bonded film, which is a decontamination step, not a heavier wash. If the panel is already cobwebbed from earlier dry wipes, that conversation is paint correction, not another mitt. We do not promise a new-car finish on neglected clear coat.
Tell us if the vehicle sits beside a job site or an open lot. Call (210) 201-4847. Work is at 11692 Bricken Circle, 78233, Tuesday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Monday is closed. The 20% deposit of the quoted total holds the slot and is not refunded if you cancel. A dark truck that was dry-wiped on a job site usually needs more time than a garaged sedan with the same dust on the roof. Rinse the loose grit before any mitt. That order matters more than the soap. Job-site dust on the rockers is part of the exterior visit when that is the scope. Say if the vehicle sits beside active construction.
