What the appointment includes
Interior car cleaning at the studio starts with everything you touch and everything you stopped noticing. Request an in-shop interior-detailing quote when you know the vehicle and the mess. Call (210) 201-4847 if you would rather talk it through first.
Carpets and floor mats are vacuumed and, when soil is ground in, extracted. How carpets and floor mats are cleaned is the longer note on what lifts and what stays. Seats are cleaned for the material that is actually there: cloth gets agitation and extraction, leather is cleaned and then conditioned so San Antonio heat does not leave it thirsty, and vinyl is treated without the greasy film that attracts dust the next day. Consoles, cup holders, door panels, vents, seat rails, and interior glass are part of the same visit. Glossy trim and screens need a lighter hand than the seats. Care around screens and glossy trim. A cabin that only looks good in a photo from the driver’s door is not finished.
Steam is used where heat and moisture help release soil that a towel will only smear, usually around plastic trim, cup holders, and some fabric. It is a tool, not a promise that every stain will vanish. If a dye transfer or a set-in spill is likely to remain, we say that before we start. Which marks can stay is covered in stain-removal limitations.
| Cabin area | Work we do | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Carpets and mats | Vacuum. Extraction when soil is ground in. | A dyed-in stain may remain. |
| Seats | Cleaned for cloth, leather, or vinyl. | Cleaning does not repair a split, a burn, or dye that has already transferred. |
| Consoles, vents, door panels | Surface cleaning. Screens and glossy trim get a lighter hand. | Fragile or aftermarket plastic is tested in a small area. This is not electronics repair. |
| Interior glass | Cleaned. | Chips and cracks are not repaired. |
| Pet hair and odors | Named when we quote, then cleaned as far as we can reach. | Complete removal is not promised. A smell in the padding may remain. |
Cabins we see on the northeast side
The usual vehicles are work trucks with caliche on the sills, family SUVs with child seats and crumbs, and daily drivers that park outside along the Nacogdoches and Thousand Oaks corridors in 78233. People also book before a sale, after a road trip, or when leather has gone dull from a summer of closed windows. We are a one-vehicle studio. A landscaping truck and a weekend coupe are not the same appointment. Robert schedules the time the cabin actually needs instead of stacking cars in a bay.
Materials, smells, and heat
Cloth holds drinks. Leather holds body oil and sunscreen. Rubber floor mats hide grit that looks like a clean cabin until you lift them. The chemical that is safe on one surface is not automatically right for a coated cloth seat or a plastic that hazes if you get aggressive. We test a small area when a surface looks fragile, aftermarket, or already damaged. Leather cleaning and conditioning considerations come after a clean. They do not rebuild cracked leather. A dusty, cracked dash is sun-damaged dashboard territory: we clean the film, and we do not heal the crack.
Odor is the other half of the conversation. A smell from a spilled milk jug is different from a wet carpet that never dried, which is different from smoke. We do not sell a one-spray miracle, and we do not claim to sanitize, disinfect, or remove mold. We remove the source we can reach, extract what we can, and tell you if the vehicle needs a second visit or if the smell is in the padding, where a detail should not promise a result. Why embedded pet hair affects the appointment is its own time factor. Tell us when you book.
Interior only, or the whole vehicle
Book this page when the cabin is the complaint. If the paint is due in the same visit, the appointment is interior and exterior full detailing. Interior work does not fix swirls. That is paint correction, quoted on its own. A coating is a third decision, after the paint is ready.
We recommend interior-only, or a full detail, after you describe the vehicle. The smaller job that matches the complaint is the one to buy.
What changes the quote
Interior detailing prices move with vehicle size, how much pet hair is woven into the carpet, whether seats are cloth or leather, and whether you need extraction or a maintenance wipe-down. A compact car with light dust is not priced like a three-row SUV that hauled gear all spring. We quote after we understand the vehicle. We do not publish a package price. The factors for any visit, and the deposit, are on the pricing page.
You call or send a request with year, make, model, and the mess that matters. After the quote, a 20% non-refundable deposit of that total secures the slot. The rest is due when you pick up. On the day, personal items come out first. We work top to bottom so dust we loosen does not land in a panel we already wiped. Leather is conditioned only after it is clean. You get a straight recap of anything that did not fully release. There is no published hour count. How long a detail takes is why.
Southern Auto Detailers is San Antonio based at 11692 Bricken Circle, San Antonio, TX 78233. Owner Robert Romero Jr., an Alamo Heights graduate and IDA-certified detailer works by appointment, Tuesday through Sunday from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and is closed Monday. Call (210) 201-4847 or email contact@southernautodetailers.com. A 20% non-refundable deposit — 20% of the quoted total — is required to secure the booking slot. The remaining balance is due when the work is finished. Ten percent of every sale goes to Junior Achievement of South Texas.
What to take out before drop-off
Child seats, toolboxes, and pet covers should come out before the appointment if you can remove them. We can work around what stays installed, and the result is better when it does not. We do not unbolt, clean, or reinstall a child restraint. The article on crumbs under a seat is about the cabin around it: car seats and the carpet under them. The general list of what to remove is prepare your vehicle for a studio appointment.
Tell us about pet hair, food stains, sand, a wet carpet, smoke, or damage that is already there. That note is what to tell the studio before you book. It changes the time more than the color of the vehicle.
Interior-care guides
These notes explain a piece of the cabin. They are not separate service packages. Carpets and mats. Stains that may remain. Pet hair. Leather care. Screens and glossy trim. Dashboard damage. Arrival and the address are on our Northeast San Antonio studio.
