Inspection before the decision
New paint can look perfect under showroom light and ordinary under a low-angle light. That is a reason to look, not a rule that every new car gets polished. If you do not see the marks in normal viewing, correction may be optional. If you see cobwebs in the sun and you want them reduced, correction belongs before the coating.
A coating will not fill those marks. The polishing explanation is what paint correction involves.
Decontamination is not correction
Every coating candidate needs to be clean. Decontamination removes material on the paint. It does not level swirls. Wax applied at delivery has to come off. A brand-new car is not automatically ready for coating on the drive home.
If washing leaves rings, read water spots on car paint before anyone coats the panel.
Correct only when the paint justifies it
Use correction when inspection finds defects you want reduced and the clear coat can spare the abrasion. A light tested polish is a different appointment from a multi-stage correction. Deep, nail-catching marks may remain.
If correction is part of the visit, name the paint correction service. If the paint does not need it, a shorter preparation for ceramic coating is the better plan. The version for neglected paint is correction before coating.
Product, cure, and where the car stays
No single coating is right for paint, glass, and trim by default. This article does not publish a universal cure period, a lifespan, or a price. Ask for the product name and the first-wash window before you leave. If you are still comparing wax, read ceramic coating versus wax. Aftercare is how to wash a ceramic-coated car.
The appointment is at 11692 Bricken Circle. Owners in Converse, Schertz, and elsewhere bring the vehicle. The shop does not come to the car. See the Northeast San Antonio studio page. Book a new-vehicle paint inspection or call (210) 201-4847.
A new car can still be swirled
Dealer washes and transport film leave light swirls on paint that is otherwise new. Coating those swirls does not hide them. A test spot shows whether a light polish is worth it before the coating, or whether the clear should be left alone. New does not mean thick, and we will not polish a panel just to justify a step.
Say if the car is new, if it has been through a dealer wash, and if any panel was repainted. That changes the correction decision more than the model year does.
Call (210) 201-4847. The install is at 11692 Bricken Circle, San Antonio, TX 78233. Tuesday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Monday is closed. Twenty percent of the quoted total holds the slot.
