Full detailing

What to tell the studio before you book a detail

Tell the studio the vehicle, whether you need the cabin, the outside, or both, and whether you also want to talk about paint correction or a ceramic coating. Those last two are not included because you said “full detail.” A full detail, on this site, is a cabin reset plus an exterior detail in one appointment. Correction refines clear coat. A coating is a protective film after the paint is ready. Naming the job you actually want is what makes the quote match the car.

The short answer

Southern Auto Detailers is one studio, at 11692 Bricken Circle, San Antonio, TX 78233. Vehicles are detailed at the shop.

Three tools, three jobs

The still life below is a memory aid, not a menu. A wash mitt stands in for exterior washing. A crevice tool stands in for interior cleaning. A foam pad stands in for polishing. They are drawn as three objects with space between them because they are different requests. Using one does not imply the others.

The service pages are exterior detailing, interior detailing, full detailing, paint correction, and ceramic coating. What a full detail includes is the longer scope note. Use this table when the titles start to blur.

The interior page on the site does mention extraction and steam for some soiled cabins. That is narrower than “every interior includes them.” When you book, describe the soil. Do not assume a smell will be gone because the word detail was used. This article will not add disinfection or a health claim.

A note that gets a clearer quote

You do not need a detailing vocabulary. You need the facts that change time. For a cabin, that includes stains, pet hair, a wet carpet, smoke, and damage that is already there. Interior detailing is the appointment when the outside is not the complaint.

The overhead photo is only the idea of “keys, a phone, a blank card.” It is not a form the studio uses, and the paper is intentionally blank. Take the photos on your phone. Write the note in whatever you already use.

  • Year, make, and model, plus cab style if it is a truck. A single cab and a three-row SUV are not the same appointment.
  • The job from the table above, in your own words if you prefer. “Both the seats and the paint, no polishing” is a full detail. “The hood looks cobwebbed in the sun” is a correction question.
  • Two photos: one of the worst exterior panel in raking light, one of the cabin from the open door. A straight-on photo of clean-looking paint hides swirls.
  • Pet hair, kids’ seats, sand, or food. Say if a seat stays installed.
  • Anything you do not want touched: dashcams, mounts, toll tags, a fresh wrap, or a panel with a new repaint.
  • Whether you are asking about a coating. If you are, also say if you can live with swirls or if you want them discussed first. A ceramic coating does not hide swirls.
  • If a chip shows a different color in the center, say that. When a scratch is too deep to polish explains why that photo matters.
  • Orange specks behind the wheels belong in the note too. Iron fallout on paint is the reason not to scrub them before you arrive.
  • Glossy trim and the screen, if they are part of why you called. Screens and glossy trim.

What a vague request costs you

“Need it cleaned” can mean a maintenance wash or a cabin that has not been vacuumed in a year. The quote then has to be redone, or the appointment is too short. A rewritten version of the same car:

> 2019 four-door pickup, crew cab. Please quote a full detail. Dog hair in the back seat. Orange specks on the rear quarters. I do not need polishing unless you think the circular marks on the hood are worth a separate quote. I am not asking for a coating yet. I can come to the studio on a Thursday.

That note names the service, the soil, the contamination, and the two upgrades you are not silently buying. It is a hypothetical. It is not a testimonial and not a promise that Thursday is open.

How to prepare for a detail starts after the appointment exists: what to remove from the car, and what the day looks like. Do that second. The booking note comes first.

One vehicle, a deposit, and the address

The site describes the studio as one vehicle at a time, by appointment. The published hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Monday closed. The site states that a 20% non-refundable deposit of the quoted total holds the slot, with the balance due when the work is finished. This article repeats those published terms so the request is not written as “fit me in on the way past.” It does not add a price. There is no dollar figure because the site does not publish package prices for these services.

Ten percent of the sale goes to Junior Achievement of South Texas. That is a published pledge, not a discount.

If you live in Schertz, Converse, Universal City, or elsewhere on the northeast side, the appointment is still at Bricken Circle. The service areas page lists communities customers drive from. It does not list extra workshops. San Antonio 78233 is the page for the studio’s own ZIP code.

Phone: (210) 201-4847. Email: contact@southernautodetailers.com. The request form is on the contact page.

Send the note to the studio

Use the contact page or call (210) 201-4847 with the vehicle, the service from the table, and the two photos if you have them. If you already know you want both the cabin and the paint cleaned, start from full detailing and add a sentence about correction or coating only if you want those discussed. The car is detailed at the studio, one vehicle at a time.

Sources

  • Southern Auto Detailers service pages and site configuration, including the live ceramic coating page fetched 9 October 2026 (H1: “Ceramic coating services in San Antonio”) and the matching source copy for full, interior, and exterior services. The table in this article follows that published split: full detailing is interior plus exterior; correction and coating are separate.
  • Hours, the 20% deposit, the Junior Achievement pledge, the address, and the phone are copied from the site’s published business details, not estimated.
  • Detailing background for the linked companion articles is cited on those articles. This intake piece does not add a new technical claim about chemicals or coatings.
  • No customer submitted the sample booking note. It is hypothetical.
